TURKEY PLUNGE
Join the Annual Turkey Plunge!
On Saturday, November 28th, Community members will ‘Splash for Cash’ to raise funds for the Friends of the Shelter Island Public Library. For a minimum donation of $30.00 ($40.00 on the day of the Plunge), you can be a part of this Island tradition and support your local library.
Join a team or go solo, compete in the costume competition, and enjoy some hot chili afterward at Crescent Beach.
ABOUT US
The Friends of the Shelter Island Public Library is a volunteer-run 501c3 non-profit, exclusively devoted to supporting the Library.
We conduct fund drives and organize events to raise money for this purpose, including the Annual Turkey Plunge.
We also underwrite library programs, supplies, and other needs not met by taxpayer dollars.

MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Friends shall be to foster closer relations between the library and the community, to enhance the library’s functions, resources, services and needs, to encourage benefactions, gifts, appropriate fundraising, and bequests to the Shelter Island Public Library.
