Proteus is enamored with the elusive Julia; however, upon arriving in Verona, he encounters Silvia, the object of his best friend Valentine’s affection, and immediately becomes infatuated with her as well. It doesn’t take long for Proteus to betray Valentine in his pursuit of Silvia. Meanwhile, Julia devises her own scheme to become involved.
