Shelter Island Library Book Club - Imperial Woman: The Story of the Last Empress of China Tuesday, October 14th, 4:00 pm (at the SI Historical Society)
This is a fictionalized biography of the last Empress in China, who began as a concubine and became head of the Qing Dynasty until her death in 1908. She was feared and hated by many in the court, but adored by the people.
This program will take place at the Shelter Island Historical Society.
